POMODOG: Study Timer & Pomodoro
Study and work with the loyalty of a canine companion by your side. Continuous ambient sound, zero penalties, and a serene space to keep your mind focused.
Focus with Kindness, Not Guilt
Unlike conventional punitive productivity apps — where timers freeze or virtual elements die when human pauses happen —, PomoDog is built on positive reinforcement and psychological safety. If life requires a real interruption, your progress is fully preserved and your canine companion remains loyally by your side.
Toxic Pressure & Anxiety
No more digital guilt. Focus should never turn into punishment when real life calls.
- Penalties: Your progress is destroyed and trees die 🥀 if you need to pause the timer to solve any problem or task.
- Cluttered Interface: Hidden settings, chaotic screens, and elements that increase cognitive overload and anxiety.
- Mandatory Login: Forced account sign-up before you can even start your first study timer.
- Paywalls & Distractions: Aggressive monetization and ads that break your train of thought.
Emotional Warmth & Serenity
The serene alternative to Forest: focus built with calm, loyalty, and respect for your natural rhythm.
- PomoDog Understands You: Pause the timer whenever life calls. Your canine companion remains on screen waiting patiently and loyally.
- 1st-Screen Control: Adjust the timer, switch sounds, toggle tags, and change color themes directly on the main screen, no hidden menus.
- Instant & Offline Access: Open and study in seconds. No sign-ups, no cloud accounts, and zero internet consumption.
- Enhanced Ergonomics: Native dark mode (Dark Cozy) for low cognitive strain throughout your study sessions.
How It Works in 3 Simple Steps
Based on Francesco Cirillo's classic method (1980s) and aligned with Kleitman's ultradian rhythms (Basic Rest-Activity Cycle), PomoDog organizes your day into 25-minute blocks of mindful attention followed by 5-minute restorative breaks. A neurobiological structure engineered to protect the prefrontal cortex, overcome task inertia, and maintain consistency without cognitive fatigue.
1. Choose Your Task & Companion
On the home screen, select and customize your activity, choose your companion, soundscape, and theme color for each new pomodoro focus timer.
2. Study with Continuous Focus
Start the timer and activate Deep Focus mode for a completely distraction-free experience.
3. Rest & Earn Rewards
Honor the 5-minute biological break to recharge neurotransmitters and receive virtual reward bones for each completed cycle.
The 2026 Pack
Body Doubling is a neuroscience-validated intervention where calm co-presence reduces task stress. Behavioral research (Odendaal & Meintjes, 2003) proves that friendly canine interaction elevates oxytocin and lowers cortisol in the body. In PomoDog, 12 original dog breeds float at 60 FPS beside the timer, unlocked organically through your focused minutes.
Hero Cards & Custom Dog Mode
Earn exclusive collectible cards to share on Stories and study with real photos of your own dog floating beside the timer.
9:16 Hero Cards
Complete 4 focus cycles with any mascot to stamp all 4 paws, reveal the epic artwork of your dog in its natural habitat, and export directly to Stories or WhatsApp.
Focus with Your Real Dog
In the Premium plan, Custom Dog Mode turns personal affection into a biological anchor of presence: import up to 4 real photos of your dog directly from your gallery to float beside the timer. Cropping and rendering are processed 100% locally on your device hardware, guaranteeing total privacy while keeping your best friend as your daily inspiration.
8 Emotional Colors & Mental States
Behavioral neuroaesthetics demonstrates that visible light wavelengths directly influence prefrontal cortex activation and regulatory neurotransmitter release. PomoDog replaces monotonous timers with 8 calibrated chromatic frequency palettes — from Solar Yellow (580 nm) for analytical alertness to Emerald and Cyan for stress attenuation —, allowing you to modulate ambient energy and autonomic response in 1 tap.
Acoustic Suite, Brown Noise & Frequencies
The on-device psychoacoustic suite delivers 15 immersive soundscapes designed for sensory shielding. Features continuous Brown Noise synthesized with a 6 dB per octave rolloff (1/f² spectral density) to attenuate harsh frequencies and quiet the mind, alongside calibrated Binaural Beats such as Gamma (40 Hz) for thalamic synchrony and Alpha (8–12 Hz) for serene absorption. 100% offline and screen-off ready.
Far Beyond an Ordinary Timer
Built with rigorous on-device engineering in native Jetpack Compose, PomoDog functions as an autonomous, high-performance workstation without any cloud dependency or invasive telemetry. Every feature — from uninterrupted Foreground Service counting to the clean sanctuary of Deep Focus and universal CSV export — was designed to eliminate interface latency and protect your attention from cognitive clutter.
Full Control on Screen 1: Zero Hidden Menus
Focus apps should not require instruction manuals or labyrinthine settings. In PomoDog, every essential control is immediately accessible on the home screen, eliminating cognitive friction before your very first session.

- Dark Cozy (#131313) Ergonomics: Low-strain dark background, generous touch targets, and high-legibility tabular numerals.

- Quick Notification Controls: Track remaining time and manage cycles right from the system status bar without reopening the app.
